How did I not know better?

For Christmas, Sugar Bear's dad got me a bottle of sparkling red wine.  I finally opened it last night and only had a few glasses so when it was 10:30 on a Saturday night  time for bed, I put my Republican elephant wine stopper in the top.  The three of us fell asleep and were awoken at 2:30am to a loud pop and the sound of breaking glass. Sugar Bear jumped out of bed to kill whatever intruder was coming into our home.

SB came back in the room laughing, apparently the pressure in my sparkling wine bottle built up and popped my wine stopper out of the bottle and broke my poor little elephant.

A similar situation happened a few years ago when I tried to cool champagne quickly by putting it in the freezer then forgetting about it by going to the bar and coming home to this:

Clearly things have changed a bit.  I'm just more exciting now.

This is what happens when you get kicked out of your blog...

Have I been missing in action for months? Sure.  Have I totally abandoned my former life?  You could say that. But does that constitute being totally removed from Southern Sass?  I don't believe so.

What happens when your sister decides to be selfish and take over a SHARED blog?

You make her design a new one for you!

So my life may be boring to S now that "Sugar Bear" and "little J" consume my life but funny shit still happens.  I'll admit, sometimes it's sad that my weekends aren't spent watching Gossip Girl and helping S figure out her new Cameo Silhouette and her new sewing machine but waking up early and getting excited as I wait patiently for Sugar Bear to install new kitchen appliances seems to fill the empty space in my heart.

Little J and I were cleaning and organizing her room this week and she decided she wants to put her ruffly comforter at the end of her bed and get a quilt to go on the whole thing.  She decided since S got a new "sew-er" for Christmas from us she could just make one for her.  S has never sewn anything other than a pillow in her life.

So, S, get that "sew-er" out and make us a quilt (preferably pink and purple) and bring it over when you wake up from your afternoon nap.
