Labor or injury?

After spending all day cleaning and organizing my house on New Year's Day, I decided to sit down on the couch with the family and watch a movie.  At some point I pulled my pregnant self up off the couch and something did not feel right.  It felt as if I pulled a muscle in my back on the right side.  I ignored the pain until it was time for bed.  I have a difficult enough time getting into bed on any given night due to the heigth of our bed but that specific time I COULD NOT make it happen.

I spend most of the night trying to get comfortable and trying not to scream out in pain so Aaron could get some sleep.  I finally got a few hours of sleep and was able to call into work and call my doctor.  The doctor's office told me to get a maternity support belt and alternate ice and heat.  Yeah, well ladies, that hasn't been working.  Finally after laying around as much as I could with Mama C and Little J, Aaron came home and I was in so much pain I called the doctor again and they told me to go to the hospital because it sounded like labor.

What the heck?  I was sure it was a pulled muscle!

Finally after Aaron frantically threw together a baby room that I had yet to finish, packed a bag for me and the baby that I had yet to pack, and little J had gathered as many quarters ($18 worth!) as she could find (for the vending machine of course), those 2 husseled me out the door at 10pm.  The hospital is about a 15 minute drive from our house so the entire way I had to hear how we were nowhere near ready for this (from Aaron) and what I should expect to happen while we are at the hospital (from Little J).

Lots of screaming out in pain, 2 Percocets, 1 flexoril, and 3 hours later they determined I was not in labor, although I was having random contractions.  I was free to go home.  That medicine only helped about 1/2 of what I needed it to help in order to be comfortable and to get any sleep.

I continued to wake up screaming in pain for the next few hours.  Finally by 6am I was pain free until I woke up at 9. I was in pain for most of the day on Friday and in extreme pain when I went to bed.  I finally fell asleep comfortably at about 3:00am and haven't felt an ounce of pain since!

At this point, I don't think labor could feel any worse than those 2 days so bring it on!
